Vikings on Steroids

So it turns out that both Pat and Kevin Williams have been caught taking banned "performance enhancing" drugs, and face a four game suspension.

They were "allegedly" taking the same diuretic that Deuce McAllister "allegedly" took, which has the effect of forcing your body to lose weight, and is also use to mask steroid use.

I have two things to say about this.

  1. If there was anything this team could have done to make itself less appealing to fans, this was it.
  2. Really? Steroids? Illegal weight loss pills? If so ... why didn't it work? They're still fat and crappy. (If you want to claim they're not crappy ... explain why they can't put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Explain why every team, no matter how bad their quarterback is, can pass on us at will. Do it.)
This is just pathetic news. I'd be more up in arms about it if I currently liked the Vikings (they need more Adrian Petersons and fewer Brad Childresses), or if these guys were performing well -- they're supposedly elite defensive tackles who apparently need steroids to achieve mediocrity.
"Performance enhancing" drugs indeed. Their performance hasn't been enhanced, and they're still horribly overweight. I shudder to think what they'll look like once they stop taking the pills.
